Police charge man after Kingsley assault

Officers from Warwick Police Station have arrested a 19-year-old man after an incident in Kingsley on Monday, 3 July 2023.

It will be alleged about 6.05pm, the victim (a 66-year-old man) was assaulted by the man, punching him several times to the head, near the intersection of Kingsley Drive and Whitfords Avenue. A second man also punched the victim.

The victim was able to crawl under his vehicle to get to safely and as a member of the public stopped to assist the victim, the two men ran from the area.

The 66-year-old victim was conveyed to the Joondalup Health Campus where he was treated for a fractured clavicle bone, cuts and bruising across his head, face and torso.

The 19-year-old man from Midvale has been charged with:

• Aggravated Assault Occasioning Bodily Harm; and

• Criminal Damage or Destruction of Property.

He is due to appear before the Joondalup Magistrates Court today, 13 July 2023.
