Police charge man after Mickleham shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following a non-fatal shooting in Mickleham on Thursday.

The 30-year-old man was arrested in the CBD yesterday, shortly after 1.20pm.

He was charged last night with 28 charges including attempted murder, intentionally causing injury and being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.

The Mickleham man has been remanded to the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Police have been unable to locate his vehicle, believed to be a gold Mercedes Sedan E Class (early 2000s model) with significant damage to the front of the vehicle.

Detectives have released images of the Mercedes sedan and are appealing for anyone with dash cam footage or CCTV around Hockley Avenue in Mickleham or Transit Drive in Campbellfield to come forward.

The charges follows an incident where a 31-year-old Mickleham man was shot in his vehicle on Hockley Avenue, Mickleham, just before 8am on 18 November.

He was conveyed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
