Police charge man after Patterson Lakes shooting

Armed Crime Squad detectives have arrested and charged a man following a non-fatal shooting in Patterson Lakes on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old man was arrested following the execution of a warrant in Foote Way, Clyde on Wednesday 24 February about 4.30pm.

A number of items were seized from the property including firearms, ammunition and implements alleged to be used in the manufacture of homemade firearms.

The Clyde man has been charged with intentionally cause serious injury, manufacture handgun, makes threats to kill, reckless conduct endangering life, prohibited person possess and prohibited person use a firearm.

The charges follow a shooting in Patterson Lakes where it is alleged a man was shot to the lower body from a moving vehicle in a carpark on Thompson Road just before 6pm.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 25 February.
