Police charge man after Preston aggravated burglary

Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following an incident in Preston yesterday (4 July).

A Toyota Sedan was observed allegedly driving erratically in Darebin about 2.55pm.

The vehicle travelled to a shopping centre on Murray Road, Preston, before the offender fled on foot.

He was arrested by police a short time later on Rita Street, Preston.

It’s alleged the male was also involved in an aggravated burglary on Beatrice Street earlier in the day.

A 34-year-old man, of no fixed place of address has been charged with theft of motor vehicle, attempted armed robbery, conduct endangering life, conduct endanger serious injury, two counts of aggravated burglary and three counts of assault police.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ court today.
