Darebin Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 27-year-old man following an alleged assault in Preston on 27 March.
The man, of no fixed address, was today charged with intentionally cause serious injury in circumstances of gross violence, commit offence while on bail and other assault-related offences.
He is expected to front Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this evening.
The 32-year-old victim was allegedly assaulted while getting off a tram at the intersection of Bell Street and Plenty Road about 11.20pm.
