Police charge man after road rage incident in Burwood

A man has been charged following a road rage incident in Sydney’s inner west today.

About 4.30pm today (Wednesday 29 September), officers attached to Burwood Police Area Command attended Parramatta Road, Burwood, following reports of a road rage incident.

On arrival, police were told a grey Nissan Navara and a white Isuzu truck were involved in a minor crash before one of the drivers – a 32-year-old man – got out of his car and shot an unloaded nail gun at the truck driver, a 55-year-old man.

The younger man then returned to the Nissan and allegedly struck the older man with his vehicle before fleeing the scene.

The older man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital with non-life-threatening head and hip injuries.

Following inquiries, police attended an address on Carrington Street, North Strathfield, where they found the 55-year-old man with minor injuries.

He was taken to Concord Hospital under police guard before he was taken Burwood Police Station where he was arrested and charged with drive furiously in motor vehicle do/cause bodily harm.

The man was granted conditional bail to appear at Burwood Local Court on Tuesday 26 October 2021.
