Police charge man after stabbing in Kingsgrove

A man has been charged after a stabbing at Kingsgrove overnight.

About 12.20am (Friday 10 May 2019), emergency services were called to a unit block on Shaw Street, Kingsgrove, after reports of a stabbing.

Officers from St George Police Area Command attended and located a 36-year-old man with a single stab wound to his abdomen. He was taken to St George Hospital for surgery. He remains in a stable condition.

Police spoke with a number of witnesses at the scene, none of which were injured.

About 1.10am, police spoke with a 35-year-old man on Berith Street, Kingsgrove.

He was arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station, where he was charged with reckless wounding.

He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court today (Friday 10 May 2019).

It is believed the incident is domestic-related.
