Frankston Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following two stabbings in Frankston earlier this week.
It is alleged a 53-year-old Skye woman was struck by the man from behind with a sharp implement as she walked along Young Street about 1.15pm on 16 August.
She was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
It’s alleged a second woman, a 29-year-old from Western Australia, was approached from behind and stabbed on Playne Street about 7.45am on 17 August.
She was also taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The 27-year-old man allegedly took off with the woman’s bag before being arrested on Ross Smith Avenue East.
The man of no fixed address was charged with intentionally cause serious injury (x2), armed robbery, possess controlled weapon and possess dangerous article.
He was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.
