Police charge man over aggravated armed robbery in Mowbray

A 23 year old Ravenswoood male has this evening been charged with Burglary and Aggravated Armed Robbery at Mowbray on Tuesday 24 September 2019.

It is alleged by police that multiple persons entered the Business Premises of Broken Car and Truck Collections at Remount Road Mowbray at 3.05am on Tuesday 24 September 2019, where they were disturbed by an employee of the business. The offenders then threatened a 28 year old male with a knife and then stole a 2000 model Toyota Hilux and power tools to a value of approximately $15,000.

He will appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court later at 11.30am on Thursday 26 September 2019.

The victim in this matter was not injured in the robbery. The Stolen Toyota Hilux and a significant quantity of power tools were recovered by police today at a residence at Longford.

“Northern CIB continue to investigate this matter, and are seeking the assistance of the community to identify other offenders involved in this matter” Acting Det. Insp Parker said.
