A man will face court next month following an assault in Sydney City.
About 2.15am on Sunday (18 June 2023), emergency services were called to Harrington Street, The Rocks following reports of an assault.
Police were told the 32-year-old man was waiting with friends for a ride-share when a taxi stopped near them.
One of the passengers exited the taxi and approached the man, who was unknown to him, before punching him to the face.
The offender left the scene before police arrived.
Following inquiries and public assistance, officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command arrested an 18-year-old man in Liverpool about 5pm on Monday (19 June 2023).
The 18-year-old man was charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He was granted conditional bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday 5 July 2023.
