Homicide Squad detectives have charged a man following the death of a woman in Everton last night.
Emergency services were called to an address on Great Alpine Road about 7.10pm on 6 December after reports a woman had been injured.
Paramedics tried to revive the 40-year-old Wangaratta woman but were unsuccessful.
A 43-year-old Everton man was arrested and subsequently interviewed by police.
He has been charged with murder and will face Wangaratta Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
Both parties were known to each other and police are not looking for anyone else at this time.
