Police charge man over home invasion at Casino

A man has been charged over an alleged home invasion at Casino last night.

About 8.35pm (Tuesday 23 January 2024), police were called to a home on Hickey Street, Casino, following reports of a home invasion.

At the scene, police were told three men allegedly entered the home and threatened a man and woman with an axe, before stealing personal items.

A crime scene was established by officers attached to Richmond Police District who commenced an investigation into the incident.

A short time later, a 20-year-old man was arrested at a motel on Hare Street, Casino, before being taken to Casino Police Station.

There he was charged with aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence, and aggravated break and enter dwelling etc in company steal.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Casino Local Court on Thursday 22 February 2024.
