A man will face court charged after an alleged home invasion and the kidnapping of a woman in Sydney’s west.
About 4.45am today (Tuesday 16 June 2026), three men – armed with edged weapons – allegedly arrived at a home on Olliver Crescent, St Clair, before forcing entry into the home.
Police will allege in court the men assaulted a 23-year-old woman inside, before taking her from the scene and leaving in two reportedly stolen Holden Commodore sedans.
Officers attached to Nepean Police Area Command were called, established a crime scene and commenced investigations.
Following inquiries, about 8am the same morning, officers sighted one of the sedans outside a Granville address.
Police attempted to speak to a 35-year-old man before he ran from police and was arrested a short time later following a foot pursuit.
The man was also wanted in relation to the alleged removal of his Corrective Services electronic ankle monitoring device on Sunday (14 June 2026).
He was taken to Granville Police Station, before being taken to Westmead Hospital for treatment of a leg injury.
The 23-year-old woman was located in the car uninjured.
A secondary crime scene was established, with police seizing the Commodore sedan to undergo forensic examination.
Upon release form hospital, the 35-year-old man was taken back to Granville Police Station where he was charged with:
– Take/detain person in company with intent obtain advantage (DV)
– Aggravated break and enter with intent- armed
– Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner
– Assault occasioning actual bodily harm (DV)
– Destroy or damage property
He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 17 June 2026).
No other arrests have been made at this time.
Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
