Police charge man over possession of child abuse material in Riverstone

A man will face court charged over the alleged possession of child abuse material in Sydney’s north-west.

On Tuesday 12 January 2021, detectives from Riverstone Police Area Command attended a house in Crown Street, Riverstone, after receiving information a man had allegedly been accessing child abuse material.

Detectives executed a search warrant and seized mobile phones, computers, hard drives, thumb drives and CDs, which were taken away for forensic examination.

After extensive investigations, detectives returned to the house about 4.55pm yesterday (Sunday 28 November 2021) and arrested a 52-year-old man.

He was taken to Riverstone Police Station where he was charged with six counts produce child abuse material, and use carriage service to access child abuse material.

The man was given strict bail conditions and is due to appear at Blacktown Local Court on Monday 31 January 2022.
