Police charge man over sexual abuse of young boys in Riverina

A man will reappear in court today charged over the alleged sexual abuse of two young boys in the state’s Riverina region.

In November last year, police received reports two boys had been sexually abused by a man while in his care.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad commenced an investigation and following inquiries arrested a 29-year-old man at Goulburn Police Station on Tuesday 8 December 2020.

He was charged with commit act of indecency (victim under 10 years) and two counts of incite victim under 10 years to commit indecent act.

Police will allege in court that the man sexually abused two boys – then aged between five and nine – on separate occasions at a house in the Riverina region in 2018.

The man appeared before Griffith Local Court on Thursday 17 December 2020, where he was formally refused bail to reappear before the same court today (Thursday 25 February 2021).
