Police charge man over Taylors Lakes sexual assault

Detectives from the Westgate Sexual Offences and Child Abuse Investigation Team have arrested and charged a man in relation to a sexual assault which occurred in the Taylors Lakes area on 22 November.

It is alleged a man sexually assaulted the female victim, whom he met through a mutual friend in the Taylors Lakes area.

Investigators executed a warrant on Norland Road Cheltenham on 27 November and located a large quantity of cash and alleged drugs including methylamphetamine, GHB and cannabis.

A man and a woman, both of Cheltenham, were arrested at the scene.

The 24-year-old man was charged with sexual penetration of a child under the age of 16, traffic and possess drug of dependence, possess proceeds of crime and breach condition of parole.

He was remanded to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 4 December.

A 23-year-old woman is expected to be summonsed to appear at a Magistrates’ Court at a later date in relation to drug charges.
