Police charge man with attempted murder after stabbing in South Granville

A man has been refused bail and will appear in court tomorrow after being charged with attempted murder following an alleged stabbing of another man at Granville last month.

About 9.20am (Thursday 11 July 2019), officers from Cumberland Police Area Command were called to a home on Boronia Street, South Granville following reports of a stabbing.

On arrival officers found an 18-year-old man suffering stab wounds to his upper body. He was treated at the scene before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

The man remains in Westmead Hospital and continues to recover in hospital.

About 9.15am today (Thursday 5 September 2019), detectives attached to Cumberland Police Area Command attended a unit in Tintern Avenue, Telopea and arrested an 18-year-old man.

He was taken to Granville Police Station and charged. He was refused bail and will appear before Parramatta Local Court tomorrow (Friday 6 September 2019).
