Police charge man with attempted murder – Ingleburn

A man has been charged with attempted murder following a stabbing in Sydney’s south-west this week.

About 1.15pm On Wednesday 15 November 2023, emergency services were called to a bus stop at the intersection of Sackville Street and Barff Road, Ingleburn, following reports a man had been stabbed multiple times.

Officers attached to Campbelltown City Police Area Command attended and found an 18-year-old man with serious injuries after allegedly being stabbed approximately 30 times on a bus by a man known to him.

He was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to Liverpool Hospital in a critical condition. Which was later upgraded to serious, but stable condition.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the attack, which was witnessed by several other bus passengers.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 22-year-old man at a bus stop on Eucalyptus Drive at Macquarie Fields, about 3.00pm yesterday (Thursday 16 November 2023).

He was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where he was charged with attempted murder.

The man was refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court today (Friday 17 November 2023).
