Police charge man with child exploitation offences in Wynnum, QLD

Detectives from Wynnum CPIU have charged a man following allegations he was filming children on his mobile phone at the Wynnum foreshore parkland yesterday afternoon (December 18).

Police will allege at about 12.30, a member of the public called police after witnessing a man covertly using a mobile phone to film very young children whilst they were being changed by a caregiver in the male changerooms at the Wynnum foreshore parkland.

Investigators believe the man did not upload or distribute any footage.

Police arrested a 31-year-old man, and subsequent investigations of the man’s phone located 14 alleged child exploitation recordings from that day.

Following investigations the man was charged with 14 counts of the possession and making of child exploitation material (filming children as described above).

The man’s bail was opposed and he is due to appear before the Wynnum Magistrates Court today (December 19).
