Police charge man with child sexual abuse offences

Child Abuse Squad detectives have charged a 47-year-old man as a result of their investigation into alleged historic child sexual abuse incidents.

It is alleged between 2007 and 2008, the man sexually assaulted a girl who was 16-years-old at the time of the first incident.

It will be alleged the incidents occurred when the man was a teacher at College in a south eastern suburb of Perth and the victim was a student.

The man from Southern River has been charged with:-

• Seven counts of Sexually Penetrated a Child over 16 years under their Authority;

• Six counts of Indecently Deals with a Child over 16 years under their Authority; and

• One count of Person in Authority Indecently Dealing with a Child.

He is due to appear before the Armadale Magistrates Court today, 18 February 2020.
