Police Charge Man With Firearm Offences At Bankstown

A man will face court tomorrow charged with alleged firearm offences following a domestic violence incident at Bankstown today.

About 1:30am (Thursday 7 May 2025), police were called to a home in Gould Street, Bankstown.

Police attached to Bankstown Police Area Command attended and arrested a 32-year-old man. A 60-year-old woman was also at the scene but was uninjured.

During a crime scene search, Police located a .9mm semi-automatic pistol, an ammunition magazine with bullets and a machine gun serrated knife.

The man was taken to Bankstown Police Station, before being taken to Bankstown Hospital for a medical condition.

After being released from hospital, he was returned to police custody at Bankstown where he was charged with:

  • possess unauthorised pistol,
  • acquire pistol subject to prohibition order,
  • possess ammunition,
  • acquire ammunition subject to prohibition order and Intimidation (DV).

He was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court tomorrow, Friday 8 May 2026.
