A man will face court charged with alleged fraud offences in the state’s west.
Yesterday (Thursday 3 September 2026), Proactive Crime Team officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District commenced investigations following reports of an alleged theft and fraud in Dubbo.
Police were told about 3.50am yesterday, an unknown man allegedly broke into an unattended parked vehicle on Fairview Street Dubbo, before stealing electronic devices, bank cards, cash and personal items.
It will be alleged the man attended a nearby service station a short time later where he used the stolen bank card.
Following inquiries, about 11.20am today (Friday 4 September 2026), investigators attended a home on Macquarie Street, Dubbo, for the execution of a search warrant.
During the search, police allegedly located and seized multiple electronic devices and items believed to be linked to the offence, to undergo forensic examination.
A 28-year-old man was arrested at the scene and taken to Dubbo Police Station.
He was charged with two counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, larceny, Face blackened/disguised with intent commit indictable offence and commit s114 offence, having previous conviction.
The man was refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 4 tomorrow (Saturday 5 September 2026).
