Police charge man with further offences after drink spiking incidents

As a result of their ongoing investigation into the activities of a 32-year-old man, Sex Assault Squad detectives have charged him with an additional 11 offences relating to two new victims who have come forward.

It will be alleged between January and March 2022, the man met the two women through an online dating site. It will be alleged whilst the man was on a date with the women at either a licensed premises or his home, he put a substance in their drinks causing them to become incapacitated before sexually assaulting them.

The 32-year-old man from Shelley has been charged with:-

• Six counts of Sexual Penetration without Consent;

• Two counts of Stupefying in Order to Commit an Indictable Offence;

• Two counts of Impeded Another Person’s Normal Breathing or Blood Circulation by Applying Pressure to Neck; and

• One count of Unlawful and Indecent Assault.

With the above offences, the man is facing court on a total of 37 charges relating to 10 victims.

The 32-year-old man is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday, 14 November 2022.
