Police charge pair over break, enter and steal in Gymea

A man and woman will face court today charged over multiple alleged property offences in Sydney’s south.

About 3.30am on Friday 27 September 2019, police were called to an underground carpark on Warburton Street, Gymea, following reports of a break, enter and steal.

Officers from Sutherland Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, officers attached to the Proactive Crime Team, with assistance from ODIN, executed a search warrant at a house on Talara Road, Gymea, just after 2pm yesterday (Tuesday 1 October 2019).

A 33-year-old man and 37-year-old woman were arrested at the scene and taken to Sutherland Police Station.

During the search, police located and seized items believed to be stolen including an ornamental sword, power tools and hand tools.

The man was charged with break, enter and steal, two counts of enter vehicle or boat without consent of owner, larceny and aggravated break and enter.

The woman was charged with two counts of goods suspected stolen and aggravated break and enter.

The pair were refused bail to appear before Sutherland Local Court today (Wednesday 2 October 2019).
