A teenage boy has been charged following a vehicle stop in Narrabri last week.
About 7.40am on Friday 31 July 2026, officers attached to Oxley Highway Patrol stopped a Ford Ranger utility for roadside testing near Goobar Street, Narrabri.
While speaking with the driver, police observed a 16-year-old boy exit the passenger’s side door. He was spoken to and arrested.
The young person was arrested and during a search the vehicle, police allegedly located six knives, one prohibited weapon (flick knife), a small amount of methamphetamine, cannabis, three ammunition rounds and several items of jewellery suspected of being stolen.
The 16-year-old boy was taken to Narrabri Police Station where he was charged with breach of bail, possession of a knife in a public place and possession of a prohibited weapon.
He was refused bail and appeared before a children’s court on Friday 31 July 2026, where he was granted strict conditional bail to reappear before a children’s court on Wednesday 26 August 2026.
