Two teenage boys have been charged following an alleged armed robbery and pursuit in Sydney’s west.
About 5:45pm yesterday (Thursday 3 September 2026), officers from Blacktown Police Area Command commenced an investigation after a silver Audi was stolen in Second Avenue, Blacktown.
Officers were informed that the driver – a 17-year-old boy – was parked at the location when he was allegedly threatened by two teenage boys armed with a knife.
A third teen arrived at the scene in a silver Mercedes, and the group drove from the scene in the two vehicles.
Police will allege about 11.30pm yesterday, the Audi was seen in St Marys where the driver failed to pay for fuel.
Officers attached to Nepean Highway Patrol attempted to stop the vehicle, but when the driver allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit commenced.
The pursuit was terminated a short time later due to the manner of driving.
Polair tracked the vehicle through Doonside, Blacktown, Toongabbie, Seven Hills and Glendenning where road spikes were successfully deployed to stop the car.
Two boys – aged 14 and 16 – were arrested at the scene and taken to Blacktown Police Station.
The stolen vehicle was located a short time later, unattended on Fourth Avenue, Blacktown. It has been taken for forensic examination.
The 14-year-old was charged with:
- Police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously
- Dishonestly obtain property by deception
- Receive stolen motor vehicle
- Driver conveyance with consent of owner
He was refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court on Friday 16 October 2026
The 16-year-old was charged with:
- Be carried in conveyance without consent of owner
- Receive stolen motor vehicle
