Police charge three after Broadmeadows pursuit overnight

Hume Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged three people following a pursuit overnight, where a firearm was allegedly found in one vehicle and drugs were located in the other.

Police observed an allegedly stolen car on Barry Road in Broadmeadows about 12.45am.

They followed it through Pascoe Vale, Essendon and Moonee Ponds, before the female driver got out of the vehicle on Tarella Drive in Keilor Downs, then got into a van.

With assistance from the Air Wing, police followed the van and stop sticks were deployed.

It came to a stop in a car park on Ardlie Street in Westmeadows and the three people inside were arrested.

Investigators searched the vehicles and allegedly located a firearm and ammunition in the car and a quantity of drugs in the van.

The driver, a 29-year-old Lalor woman, has been charged with reckless conduct endangering life, possess firearm and theft of motor vehicle.

A 30-year-old man from Meadow Heights was charged with dangerous driving while pursued by police, theft of motor vehicle, reckless conduct endangering life

They will appear at Broadmeadows Magistrates Court today.

A 30-year-old Prahran woman was charged with theft of motor vehicle and possess methylamphetamine, she was bailed to appear at the Broadmeadows Magistrates court at a later date.
