Three people have been charged over the alleged assault of a teenage boy at Woolgoolga at the weekend.
Officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District commenced inquiries after being told a 16-year-old boy was allegedly assaulted by four people about 3pm Saturday (8 August 2026).
The youth suffered a fractured elbow, bruises to his face, back and arms after he was allegedly punched, kicked and beaten with a baseball bat in Backhouse Street, Woolgoolga.
Following inquiries, an 18-year-old man, and two boys, aged 15 and 16, were arrested about 10.30am yesterday (Tuesday 11 August 2026), and taken to Coffs Harbour Police Station.
All three have now been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company, and affray. The younger boy has also been charged with fail to comply with digital evidence access order (DEAO).
The man was granted conditional bail to appear in Coffs Harbour Local Court on 14 September 2026, while the younger boy was also granted conditional bail to appear in a children’s court on the same day.
The older boy was refused bail and is due to appear in a children’s court today (Wednesday 12 September 2026).
Inquiries continue to identify the fourth person allegedly involved.
