Police Charge Three With Drug Offences – Hunter Valley

Two men and a woman will face court today charged following an investigation into alleged drug supply offences in the Hunter Valley.

In July 2026, police commenced an investigation into drug supply in the Muswellbrook and Scone areas.

Yesterday morning (Thursday 9 July 2026), officers from the Rural Crime Prevention Team, Northern OSG, Hunter Valley Criminal Investigation and Hunter Valley Proactive Crime Team attended homes in Muswellbrook and Scone where two search warrants were executed.

During the search warrants, police allegedly located and seized items of interest including approximately 1.1kg methamphetamine, 669.6g cannabis, 400 dexamphetamine tablets and other prescribed restricted substances, ammunition, a slingshot, $5200 cash, electronics, two electric scooters, three e-bikes, and two mountain bikes.

A 63-year-old man was arrested in Scone, while a 51-year-old woman and 23-year-old man were arrested at the Muswellbrook home.

All three were taken to Muswellbrook Police Station.

The older man was charged with 21 offences,

  • Possess prohibited drug (nine counts)
  • Possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit (five counts)
  • Supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable, less than commercial quantity) (two counts)
  • Recklessly deal with proceeds of crime (less than or equal to $5000)
  • Possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority
  • Possess/attempt to, prescribed restricted substance
  • Possess, supply or make explosive for unlawful purpose, and
  • Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle).

The younger man was charged with two counts of possess prohibited drug, and breach of bail.

The woman was charged with 12 offences,

  • Goods suspected stolen in/on premises (not motor vehicle) (seven counts)
  • Supply prohibited drug (greater than or equal to commercial quantity)
  • Supply prohibited drug (greater than small less than or equal to indictable quantity)
  • Deal with proceeds of indictable crime-money etc (more than or equal to $1000)
  • Restricted substance sold by non-wholesaler, and
  • Organises/conducts/assists drug premises.

All three were refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 2 today (Friday 10 July 2026).
