Two men have been charged over an alleged assault in Sydney’s eastern suburbs yesterday.
About 3.30pm (Wednesday 23 September 2026), emergency services were called to Court Road, Double Bay, following reports of an assault.
Officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended and located a 31-year-old man, who was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for head injuries.
The man was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Police were told the man was allegedly assaulted by two men, one of which was believed to be armed with a shovel.
The two men allegedly left the scene prior to police arrival.
About 5pm, police arrested a 26-year-old man on Burwood Road, Croydon Park, before taking to Burwood Police Station.
A short time later a second man – aged 20 – was arrested at Burwood Police Station.
The older man was charged with reckless wounding, use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and breach of bail.
The younger man was charged with common assault and breach of bail.
Both men were refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court today (Thursday 24 September 2026).
