Police Charge Two After Pursuit At Currarong

Two charged after alleged pursuit on the South Coast today.

About 11.10am (Tuesday 30 June 2026), police were patrolling Currarong Road, Currarong, when they observed a vehicle, with a driver allegedly wanted on an outstanding warrant.

Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, however when it allegedly failed to do so, a pursuit was initiated.

The vehicle came to a stop on Springbank Road, Mayfield, where it crashed through a picket fence.

The driver, a 46-year-old man, allegedly resisted and after taser was deployed, he was arrested.

The passenger, a 39-year-old woman, was also arrested.

During a search of the pair and the vehicle, officers allegedly located and seized methamphetamine and other drug paraphernalia.

They were both taken to Nowra Police Station where the woman was charged with breach of bail.

The man was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously, drive motor vehicle during disqualification period, hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty.

Two outstanding warrants were also executed relating to further alleged traffic and drug related offences.

They were both refused bail to appear before Bail Division Court 3 tomorrow (Wednesday 1 July 2026).
