Echo Taskforce detectives have today arrested two people as part of their investigation into the drive by shooting of a pastry shop in Reservoir last year.
A 25-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, both from Hawthorn East were arrested this morning and subsequently interviewed in relation to a number of firearms incidents including the following:
• The shooting at the Reservoir pastry shop on 12 July, 2020;
• An incident where shots were fired into an unoccupied vehicle in Hadfield on 15 July, 2020;
• An incident where shots were fired into a residential property in Lalor on 15 July, 2020;
• A number of online deceptions in May 2021; and
• A number of driving incidents between October and December 2021.
The man has been charged with the following:
• Discharge Firearm at a Premises
• Use Firearm in a Public Place
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Life
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Serious Injury
• Use Firearm in the Commission of an Indictable Offence
• Prohibited Person Possess a Firearm
• Discharge Firearm at a Premises
• Use Firearm in a Public Place
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Life
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Serious Injury
• Use Firearm in the Commission of an Indictable Offence
• Prohibited Person Possess a Firearm
• Discharge Firearm at a Premises
• Use Firearm in a Public Place
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Life
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Serious Injury
• Use Firearm in the Commission of an Indictable Offence
• Prohibited Person Possess a Firearm
• Obtain Property by Deception
• Attempt To Obtain Property by Deception
• Fail to Stop Vehicle on Police Request
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Life
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Serious Injury
• Drive Whilst Disqualified
• Fail to comply with direction to assist – 465AA order
The woman has been charged with the following:
• Discharge Firearm at a Premises
• Use Firearm in a Public Place
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Life
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Serious Injury
• Use Firearm in the Commission of an Indictable Offence
• Prohibited Person Possess a Firearm
• Discharge Firearm at a Premises
• Use Firearm in a Public Place
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Life
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Serious Injury
• Use Firearm in the Commission of an Indictable Offence
• Prohibited Person Possess a Firearm
• Discharge Firearm at a Premises
• Use Firearm in a Public Place
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Life
• Reckless Conduct Endanger Serious Injury
• Use Firearm in the Commission of an Indictable Offence
• Prohibited Person Possess a Firearm
• Obtain Property by Deception
• Attempting to Pervert the Course of Justice (Common Law)
• Drive Whilst Disqualified
• Fail to comply with direction to assist – 465AA order
Both will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court this afternoon.
Earlier this month police released CCTV footage of the incident in Reservoir along with a number of images as part of a public appeal for further information.
The investigation remains ongoing.
