Police charge two after shots allegedly fired into car in Young

Police have charged a man and teenager after shots were allegedly fired into a car at Young yesterday.

About 2pm (Thursday 21 February 2019), police will allege multiple shots were fired into a vehicle that was parked outside an address on Brock Street, Young.

The owner of the vehicle drove to Young Police Station where he spoke with police.

Officers from The Hume Police District commenced an investigation and following inquiries, arrested a 21-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy later that day in Blackett Avenue, Young.

The pair were taken to Young Police Station where they were both charged with discharge firearm with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, fire firearm at dwelling house and fire firearm in or near public place.

The older man was refused bail to appear in Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Friday 22 February 2019).

The teenage boy was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at a Children’s Court on Wednesday 13 March 2019.
