Police charge two men after assault in Strathfield

Two men have been charged following an assault in Sydney’s inner west.

About 1.15am (Sunday 15 May 2022), emergency services were called to Strathfield Railway Station after reports of a brawl.

Officers from Burwood and Auburn Police Area Commands attended and found a man suffering head injuries in a nearby carpark on Albert Road, Strathfield.

Police were told the man was assaulted by up to three men before they were seen fleeing towards the railway station.

The injured 31-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in a serious condition.

About 11.30pm on Sunday 15 May 2022, two men – aged 18, were arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station.

They were both charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm in company of others and refused bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Monday 16 May 2022.

One man was released on conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Monday 30 May 2022. The other man released on conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Monday 11 July 2022.
