Two teenagers have been arrested following investigations into a break-in at Whyalla.
In the early hours of Monday 31 August, a home on Needlebush Street, Whyalla Stuart was allegedly broken into, with jewellery and a Toyota sedan parked in the driveway stolen during the incident.
The occupant was home at the time, however, they were not confronted.
Police located the stolen vehicle on nearby Reynolds Street about 2am, where it was seized for examination by crime scene investigators.
Following investigations, a 12-year-old boy from Whyalla Stuart was arrested on Monday evening, while a 14-year-old boy, also from Whyalla Stuart, was arrested just before 1am on Tuesday 1 September.
The teens were both charged with aggravated serious criminal trespass, theft and illegal use of a motor vehicle. They were refused police bail and appeared in the Whyalla Youth Court on Tuesday.
These arrests form part of investigations under Operation Scalene, which was launched in August in response to emerging crime trends and cross-border offending across the Eyre and Western, Far North, and Yorke Mid North policing regions. The operation aims to identify and disrupt those responsible for the offences.
Police continue to target those involved in this type of offending and urge the local community to report any suspicious behaviour around homes and vehicles via the Police Assistance Line on 131 444.
