A woman has been charged after prohibited drugs were seized in the state’s Central West on the weekend.
Officers attached to Central West Police District were called to a home on Brolgan Road, Parkes, about 10.45am on Sunday 23 August 2026, following reports of a concern for welfare.
Police arrived and spoke to a 46-year-old woman who allegedly threw an object at a police officer which struck his leg.
Officers allege that during the woman’s arrest, she refused to follow police direction and resisted arrest; a physical altercation ensued. OC spray was deployed.
The woman was taken to Parkes Hospital for a precautionary assessment.
During a search of the Brolgan Road home later the same day, police seized methylamphetamine, cannabis, eight mobile phones and a drug ledger.
The woman was taken to Parkes Police Station, where she was charged with four offences,
- Possess prohibited drug
- Assault police officer in execution of duty without actual bodily harm
- Hinder or resist police officer in the execution of duty, and
- Breach of bail.
She was refused bail and appeared before Bail Division Court 4 yesterday (Monday 24 August 2026), where she was granted strict conditional bail to reappear at Parkes Local Court on Thursday 24 September 2026.
