A woman will face court today charged following a fatal crash on the state’s South Coast last year.
About 7.30pm Friday 30 August 2019, a Honda Jazz was travelling north on the Princes Highway at Wandandian.
The 55-year-old female driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle and crossed over to the oncoming southbound lane, colliding with a Hyundai i30 and Isuzu utility.
Three passengers in the back of the Honda Jazz sustained minor injuries, while the 88-year-old male passenger died at the scene.
The driver of the Hyundai i30 sustained serious injuries and has since undergone surgery.
The driver of the Isuzu utility was not injured.
Following extensive investigation, the 55-year-old woman was charged with;
– dangerous driving occasioning death (manner dangerous),
– dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm (manner dangerous),
– two counts of cause bodily harm by wilful neglect, in charge of motor vehicle,
– negligent driving (occasioning death),
– negligent driving (occasioning grievous bodily harm),
– negligent driving, and
– not keep left of dividing line.
She was granted conditional bail and is due to face Nowra Local Court today (Monday 16 March 2020).
