Police Charge Woman After Pursuit – Alexandria

A woman is in custody after a pursuit in Sydney’s inner west.

About 5.30am today (Friday 19 June 2026), officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command responded to reports of an alleged break and enter occurring at a home in Spencer Street, Summer Hill.

It will be alleged in court that as police entered the street, they attempted to stop a white Audi S5.

When the vehicle allegedly failed to stop as directed, a pursuit was initiated.

During the pursuit the vehicle lost its front offside tyre.

The pursuit continued for a short time through the M8 tunnel before it came to a stop on Lawrence Lane, Alexandria, where two male occupants from the front seats of the vehicle and a female from the rear passenger seat ran from the scene.

After a short foot pursuit, the 29-year-old woman was arrested at the scene and taken to Mascot Police Station.

The two males were unable to be located.

The woman was charged with be carried in conveyance taken without consent of owner and passenger not disclose driver’s/other passenger’s identity

The Marrickville woman was refused bail to appear at Bail Division – Court 7 today (Friday 19 June 2026).

Inquiries have established that the vehicle was reported stolen from Darley Street, Newtown, on Wednesday 6 May 2026. The vehicle has been seized for forensic examination.
