Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a woman after a man was located with serious injuries in South Yarra this morning.
Emergency services were called to reports of a man with head injuries on Malvern Road about 12.20am.
Officers were told the man was allegedly assaulted before being stabbed.
The victim, a 58-year-old St Kilda man, was transported to hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives later executed a search warrant at a property on nearby Howitt Street and arrested a 38-year-old woman about 10.30am.
The South Yarra woman was charged with intentionally cause serious injury, recklessly cause serious injury and fail to comply with direction to assist.
She was remanded to appear before Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
It is believed the parties are known to each other.
