A woman has been charged following an alleged stabbing in the state’s west overnight.
About 1am today (Friday 2 October 2026), emergency services were called to a home on Mulyan Street, Cowra, following reports of a stabbing.
Officers attached to Chifley Police District attended and located a 20-year-old man suffering a stab wound to his back.
The man was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Orange Health Service in a stable condition.
A crime scene was established and police commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
About 5am, police arrested a 28-year-old woman on Mulyan Street, Cowra.
Police subsequently executed a search warrant at a home on the same street, where several items were allegedly seized.
The woman was taken to Cowra Police Station and charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (DV).
She was refused bail and will appear before Bail Division Court 4 today (Friday 2 October 2026).
