Police charge woman over stabbing of teenager in Earlwood

A woman will face court today, charged with the alleged stabbing of a teenage girl at a party in Sydney’s Inner West last month.

About 9.30pm on Saturday 21 March 2020, emergency services responded following reports a girl had allegedly been stabbed by a woman during a party at a park on Hartill-Law Avenue, Earlwood.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the 15-year-old girl for stab wounds and took her to Randwick Children’s Hospital, where she underwent surgery.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist forensic officers. A number of items were seized for further examination.

Following inquiries, police arrested a 19-year-old woman at a unit in Marrickville yesterday (Thursday 2 April 2020).

The woman was taken to Newtown Police Station where she was charged with wound person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

She was refused bail, due to appear before Central Local Court today (Friday 3 April 2020).
