Police Charge Youth Over Disturbance In Hobart CBD

Police have charged a female youth following a disturbance in the Hobart CBD yesterday afternoon (6 October).

Police received reports about 2.50pm of a youth in the Liverpool, Elizabeth and Argyle street areas behaving in an agitated manner and carrying what appeared to a knife.

Police responded immediately and took the youth safely into custody on Argyle Street, within four minutes of the initial report.

The swift response by attending officers ensured the incident was quickly contained, with no injuries reported.

A 15-year-old has been charged with behave in a violent manner, unlawfully carry a dangerous article in a public place, and stealing.

Police urge members of the public to report anti-social behaviour and unlawful activity. For incidents and non-urgent crimes, report to Police on 131 444. In the event of a serious incident with someone in immediate danger, people should call 000 (triple zero).
