A youth has been charged following an attempted armed robbery at a business in Shorewell Park near Burnie.
Approximately 3:30pm, on Wednesday 12 October, Burnie Police attended an attempted armed robbery at BWS on Wiseman Street, Shorewell Park.
A male youth entered the store and demanded cash, while threatening staff with an apparent weapon. A staff member was able to alert police and the youth fled from the store empty handed. No staff were physically harmed during the incident.
A number of searches were conducted, with a 16-year-old male youth located and arrested. The youth was charged and bailed to appear in the Burnie Magistrates Court Youth Justice Division at a later date.
