Police close drug and firearm operation in Stanthorpe and surrounding areas

Police have seized cannabis, methylamphetamines, drug utensils, illegal firearms, explosives, tainted property and a re-birthed stolen vehicle during recent raids in the Stanthorpe and surrounding areas.

The operation was conducted over the 23rd and 24th of January by officers from the Toowoomba Major and Organised Crime Squad (Rural), Stanthorpe CIB, Warwick CIB, Stanthorpe, Warwick and Wallangarra stations, Brisbane Dog Squad and the Explosives and Ordinance Response Team Dog Squad.

During the operation, officers executed a total of 17 search warrants at residences and rural properties in the Stanthorpe and surrounding areas and arrested a total of 19 people on 42 charges.

“This is a significant result for police as well as the Stanthorpe community. Police are committed to stopping crime and keeping the Queensland community safe. We encourage anyone with information about criminal activity to contact us,” Detective Sergeant Brendan Murphy of Toowoomba MOCS (Rural) said.
