Police close Operation Romeo Cradle at Logan

The Major and Organised Crime Squad-Logan have closed Operation Romeo Cradle targeting members of a local group known as the 36 crew.

Operation Romeo Cradle commenced in May 2019 focusing on drug and firearms offences allegedly being committed by this group.

The operational closure on Friday involved detectives and Logan District Police executing search warrants on four properties in the Logan area. During the operation police seized firearms , a taser device, cannabis, buprenorphine and a large sum of cash.

Seven people were charged on 34 offences, including two men for attempting to pervert the course of justice. The two men were due to appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court.

“Romeo Cradle was a targeted and intelligence-led operation which resulted in significant charges and the seizure of illicit firearms and drugs.

“We will continue to focus on disrupting the illegal activities of these groups to prevent crime and make our community safer,” Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Gavin Pascoe of the Logan Major and Organised Crime Squad said.
