Police concerned for welfare of mother and newborn baby in Hornsby

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a mother and her newborn baby girl who left Hornsby Hospital against medical advice at the weekend.

Last Sunday (6 July 2019), 32-year-old, Te-Aroha Hape, left the hospital on Palmerston Road, Hornsby, with her three-day-old daughter without medical clearance.

Officers from Ku-Ring-Gai Police Area Command have conducted extensive inquiries into their whereabouts without success.

There are serious concerns for the welfare of Te-Aroha and her daughter, as they require medical assistance.

It is believed Te-Aroha may be in company of the child’s father, Benjamine Street, and driving a white Volkswagen Transporter with ACT registration YGG45K.

Te-Aroha is described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance, about 170cm tall, of medium build, with black hair and brown eyes.

Te-Aroha is known to frequent Blacktown and the Upper North Shore, and has associates in The Hills, Nepean, and Mt Druitt areas.
