Police hold concerns for welfare of Alice Springs 7 September

Northern Territory Police have begun an aerial search for five people who failed to meet up with friends at a campground 150km east of Alice Springs at the weekend.

Friends of the group notified police on Sunday afternoon, that the group were meant to meet with them and camp overnight at Ruby Gap on Saturday night.

Gabrielle Freedman, 29, Shaygun Narula, 27, Haydn Dodds, 29, Renae Walker, 31 and Jessica Kolic, 29 Alice Springs in a white Toyota Hilux with NT registration 653414 around 5pm on Saturday.

An aerial search of the Ross Highway, Stuart Highway and Binns Track began at first light this morning.

Police hold concerns for the groups’ welfare as this behaviour is unusual and it is unknown what provisions they have with them.

Police urge anyone with information as to the groups whereabouts, to call them 131 444 or report it anonymously via 1800 333 00 and reference PROMIS 9414907.
