Stonnington Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance following a burglary in Malvern East last month.
Investigators believe a man smashed a rear window to a house on Macgregor Street about 1.30pm on 22 March.
He stole a laptop, Ipad, a pair of binoculars, a camera and a bottle of orange juice.
It is not known if the man fled in a vehicle or on foot.
He is perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, approximately 183cm tall, of medium build with brown hair.
Detectives have released images of a man who they believe can assist with their enquiries.
