Police investigate armed robbery at CBD business

Melbourne Embona Robbery Taskforce are investigating an armed robbery at a shopping centre in the CBD in December.

Investigators have been told an unknown man entered the Swanston Street store just before 10pm on 19 December 2020.

The man was armed with a knife and attempted to steal items before a staff member stopped him and recovered the items.

He returned a short time later and again attempted to steal items from the store and was again stopped by a staff member.

A struggle took place between the offender and staff and during the struggle a staff member received a cut to his arm and was treated for minor injuries.

The offender fled on foot and is yet to be located at this stage.

Investigators have released images and CCTV in the hope someone may recognise the man.
