Police investigate armed robbery at Mackay 24 February

Mackay police are appealing for public assistance regarding investigations into an armed robbery that took place at a shopping centre on Phillip Street, Mount Pleasant this morning.

Around 10.30am, a man approached a 34-year-old South Mackay woman who was sitting in her parked Toyota Landcruiser at the time.

The man pointed an object in her direction and verbally threatened her, causing the woman to exit the vehicle.

Once the woman was out of the vehicle, the man entered the driver’s side and drove out of the carpark, turning left onto Phillips Street.

The offender is described as a Caucasian male with a goatee beard, wearing bright red shorts, dark sandals with white ankle socks, a grey singlet, orange hat and carrying a black item of clothing over his left shoulder.

Police are also searching for the stolen white Landcruiser with Queensland registration 822 YQJ.

CCTV shows the man walking through the centre carpark between 10.05am and 10.30am, prior to the incident.

Police believe the man pictured below may be able to assist with their inquiries.
